This Privacy Policy explains how Diabetic's Diary handles information. Diabetic's Diary is an offline personal health logging app for iPhone.
1. No account, advertising, analytics, or tracking
The app does not require an account, login, phone number, email address, or Sign in with Apple. It does not contain advertising or third-party analytics, does not perform cross-app tracking, and does not sell personal information.
The app does not send your profile, health records, medication information, notes, meal photos, Apple Health data, or generated insights to a server operated by the developer or a third party. The developer cannot view or recover this on-device data.
2. Information stored on your device
Depending on the features you use, the app may store information you enter, such as:

Optional profile information, including a name, birth date, sex, height, weight, and health conditions;
•
Glucose, uric acid, laboratory, meal, fruit, hydration, medication, exercise, target, and note records;
•
Medication reminder schedules and completion logs;
•
Meal photos you choose to attach;
•
On-device activity summaries authorized through Apple Health; and
•
Optional insights generated with Apple's on-device system language model.
This information is stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone and is used only to provide the features you request.
3. Camera, photos, and notifications
Camera and photo-library access are optional and are requested only when you choose to attach a meal photo. Selected photos are re-encoded and copied into the app's private storage. The app does not upload them or save them back to your photo library.
Notification access is optional and is requested only when you enable a medication or hydration reminder. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. You can choose to hide medication names from notification content.
You can deny or revoke these permissions in iPhone Settings without losing access to the app's other core logging features.
4. Apple Health
Apple Health integration is optional. With your permission, the app may read steps, active energy, walking and running distance, exercise time, workouts, and sleep data to create on-device summaries. With your permission, it may also write blood-glucose and plain-water records that you entered in the app.
Apple Health data is processed on your device. It is not used for advertising, marketing, profiling, data mining, or sale, and is not sent to the developer. You can review or revoke access in iPhone Settings or the Health app.
5. Optional on-device intelligence
On supported devices where Apple Intelligence and Apple's system language model are available, you may choose to generate an optional on-device insight. The app provides the model with a minimized summary of recent record statistics and excludes your name and meal photos. The resulting text may be incomplete or inaccurate, is labeled for reference, and is not medical advice.
The app does not send the input or generated text to a developer-operated server. Generated text remains in the app's private storage until you delete it or erase all app data. This feature is hidden on unsupported devices and is not required for core logging features.
6. Retention and deletion

Structured records remain on your device until you delete them, erase all local app data, or uninstall the app.

Meal-photo files are automatically deleted after no more than 30 days. The related text record remains until you delete it.
